In any other part of the country, you’d think I was talking about some pampered pooches. In New Orleans, a Lucky Dog has a whole other meaning.

The hot dog carts have been a fixture in the French Quarter for as long as I can remember (and was the one craving I had when expecting child #1). The company has expanded and now will provide carts and servers for company picnics, parties and more. Fun, but to me they should still be eaten late at night while standing on the sidewalk just off of Bourbon Street….

Lisa - I love this. What a great photo of a French Quarter staple. And a clever name.
Jeff
Hi Lisa,
Love the photo. I've never been to New Orleans and the photo makes it enticing.
See * I can get a NASCAR reference in for a hot dog stand!!!
Jeff, just another little bit of my unique hometown ;) I'm having so much fun taking pictures all over.
Don, are you coming to Family Reunion in New Orleans? You'd love it!
Wallace, LOL!!
Lisa I haven't eaten one of those in years. I bet they sell a few extra this weekend.
When I lived in the warehouse district in 1993-94 (!!), we would line up 30 deep in the wee hours after leaving a bar at one of these stands. Very happy memories, and one of the great tings about your great town.
Lisa, That's so funny, we have them here all over but they are called "Dirty Dogs" due to the water.....I like Lucky Dogs much more :)
Ah yes...I remember from my brief tenure in New Orleans (did you know I lived there for 6 months and worked at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside and Towers?)
Hope to sample some in November if the real estate gods bless me with the chance to come to New Orleans!
Thanks for the memory!
Lisa, I have never had one of those yet! We have something here called a Kasper dog that is out of this world!
Lisa, I love the Lucky Dog stands...Ignatius J. Riley! HA. I have a wooden plaque...New Orleans..Lucky Dogs...don't be a meany, Buy a Weeny!
Lisa, I need to get a photo of one of our staples - chicken and biscuits from Bojangles... oh and congrats on the Saints win yesterday! Here's to the Super Bowl trophy making it to New Orleans this year!
Ummmm. Photo makes my mouth water for one. Too bad we don't have those here in Baton Rouge.
I could sure go for one of those right now, along with a stroll down Bourbon St.
Who'd a thunk hot dogs would get attention? Thanks for dropping in, everyone :)
Lisa - I haven't thought about Lucky Dogs in a long time. Great picture of the cart!
Thanks, Susan!
