New Orleans Real Estate News: Choctaw River Parade: Rolling on the River

Choctaw River Parade: Rolling on the River

I recently wrote a post about the possible loss of another New Orleans Mardi Gras tradition.

I am very happy to say that through strong negotiations and the cooperation of the Steamboat Natchez company, the River Parade will take place as planned without an increase in cost to the Krewe!

The annual West Bank Mardi Gras event will take place on January 19, 2008.  Boarding will start at 9:30 am at the Gretna ferry landing and the boat will sail promptly at 10 am.  This wonderful and fun event is open to the public and everyone is welcome to be a part of the only river parade in New Orleans.  Food and drink will be available for purchase on the Natchez.

Need tickets?  You can purchase them online here.

Hail the Chief!

Chief Choctaw

Lisa, That's wonderful!  I'm so glad the parade is on again!!  I wish I could be there to enjoy it but that's the day we're having our Wedding Celebration Party!  Of course, it has a Mardi Gras theme!  Have fun rolling on the river!!

Lisa,

I lived in Kenner about 16 years ago and I'm happy to hear this news.  I haven't been back to Mardi Gras (or Jazz Fest which I thought was better!) since leaving and I do miss it!  Maybe, since I'm in hiding.... I'll head south!

Judi, I'll be thinking about you doing your own second line in San Antonio!

Martin!  You lived here?  You MUST come down and visit... you and Manuel are both welcome :)

Man... I'd love to get back down there.  It has been SO long!  I still remember going to the Jiffy Lube specifically next to the seafood store.... then I'd get a half pound of crawfish and eat them while waiting for the car.
