New Orleans Real Estate News: Put a Fire Fighter in Your Christmas Stocking

Put a Fire Fighter in Your Christmas Stocking

Many of the New Orleans fire fighters lost everything in Hurricane Katrina.  They were impacted not only in the loss of several fire stations, but personally as well with the loss of their uniforms.  As a fund raiser to replace station house uniforms for these brave men and women who serve their communities, the New Orleans Fire Fighters Look Hot 2008 Calendar is now on sale.

On the West Bank, calendars are for sale at the Algiers Latter & Blum office and at J&K Bar and Cafe on General Meyer.   Calendars can also be purchased at retailers on the East Bank or online.

Lisa,  What a good cause!  Thanks again for last night - I definitely had fun and some great laughs to say the least.  I may have to post that youtube also.  It was too funny!

Marc, I already have my calendar, autographed by 2 of the guys.  It really is a great fund raiser, since they have to pay for station uniforms out of their own pockets.

I had a great time chatting with you last night...sorry for hijacking your MeMe!

Oohhhhhhhhh Lisa!  You weren't supposed to tell me what you were giving me for Christmas!

Actually, my son has joined the fire fighter Explorers group and we had to buy a uniform.  We only had to buy pants, shirt and boots, but they were NOT cheap.  I hope this fundraiser is very successful.

Inna, there ARE female fire fighters...don't know why none of them are represented.  Of course, it might have something to do with the lack of shirts :)

Elaine, you peaked?  Now the surprise is ruined :(

Lisa:  This looks like it will raise a lot of money. You know...it would seem to me that as much money as ou government throws around...they would supply uniforms to firefighters who lost theirs. Something is wrong with a hero having to pay for his own uniform. Blessings, my friend!

Lisa, I think this is a terrific idea and I hope it raises a lot of money.  Our firefighters are the BEST and indispensible, truly dedicated people.  I do hope these calanders sell out!

Elizabeth, I completely agree with you!!!!  Their fire fighting gear has been replaced, but their station house uniforms are paid for by the individual fire fighter.  The goal is to raise enough money to buy a new uniform for every single one of them.

Carole, your fire department is world famous!  And, they gave a lot of help to us after the storm.  My hat is off to them all.

Lisa,  They should've put the ones on the calendar who didn't maybe look so good.  Whoowee...who wants to be responsible for covering those boys up?

Midori, do it!  You can order one online and they'll send it right out to you.  It really is a great cause and I'm sure you need a calendar for next year anyway, right?  Why not one that you really LIKE!

Judi, just tell him it's a charitable donation.  You can't help it if you get a calendar in return :)
