West Bank Weekend Events - March 21-23, 2008

It's Easter weekend...time to relax a little and take a break from all of the recent Friday activities.  I hope that you have your family to surround you and that you have a fantastic weekend.

Saturday Eventseaster basket

Easter egg hunts are a fun way to spend this Saturday afternoon with the  kids.  On the West Bank, they will be scouring to fill their baskets at:

  • Bayou Segnette State Park, Westwego.  Starting at 11 am on Saturday, bring a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon in the park.
  • Catfish Bourgeois Park, Westwego (West Bank Expressway and Avenue C).  The hunt for eggs starts at 10 am on Saturday.  There will also be food, entertainment, refreshments and games for the kids.

The Gretna Farmer's Market will be open on Saturday, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm with local produce, art, crafts and more.  Under the Gretna Market on Huey P. Long Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets.

Sunday Events

There are, of course, sunrise and morning Easter services all over the West Bank.  With too many to list here, I would just like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.
