New Orleans Real Estate News: An Anniversary Celebration, New Orleans Style

An Anniversary Celebration, New Orleans Style

Many, many years ago (28 to be exact), my wonderful husband and I were married right here on the West Bank, at Algiers United Methodist Church.  I remember the sun streaming through the stained glass windows on that hot June afternoon in 1980, long before we ever dreamed we would have 4 children, 2 dogs, a cat, a mortgage, car notes and all of the other grown up responsibilities that come with being...well, grown up (which is completely overrated, by the way)

In typical New Orleans fashion, we still live in Algiers, just a stone's throw from the houses we were both raised in only 4 blocks from each other.  While lots of couples choose to travel to celebrate their wedding anniversaries, we chose to stay local.  With dinner reservations at that New Orleans original, Ruth's Chris Steak House, we headed out to spend an evening downtown enjoying our fabulous city.

I highly recommend the steak and shrimp                          Yummy creme brulee...

            (and the sinful creamed spinach)

A little wine....                                                        A little music.....

What better way to celebrate not just our wedding anniversary, but the rebirth of our city as well.

Happy Anniversary, honey...

Lisa, Happy Anniversary!  Not many dinners are better than one at Ruth's Chris -- one of my favorite steakhouses.  I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.  I'm almost a quarter of way there to your 28 years and will be celebrating 7 in September.

Happy Anniversary, sounds like a great way to celebrate! The food looks yummy, maybe its time to plan a trip to New Orleans! We honeymooned at the Monteleone way back when, ah it will be 26 years this Sept!

Lisa, Happy Anniversary. Those pictures all look so beautiful and romantic. Ours was June 26th and we both spent it in bed sick (now how romantic is that?!!!)

Amanda, I DO love my city :)

Elaine, thank you...I think we toasted enough last night!

Carole, have you been there?  The original location here in NOLA was lost during Katrina, so I'm very happy to see the new location right in the heart of the city.

Brian, I am such a creature of habit, that I don't even look at the menu...I always order the same thing.  This time I got crazy and added the shrimp :)

Crystal, a NOLA honeymoon?  How wonderful!  I hope you get back down here again - it's still a beautiful city.

Well, we were moving from Tx, to Georgia right after the wedding for my husband to start his new job, it was not my first choice destination but my husband made it very romantic, I still remember the roof top pool with lunch and the musician that he hired to serenade me, we had the whole roof all to our self, he and the hotel made it a very special time

the next year he took me to Bermuda,

Kim, the wine can be deadly - watch out! :)

Crystal, it sounds like you've got a great hubby!!  Serenaded on a roof top?  I thought that only happened in the movies!!

Terrie, thanks for stopping by.  I'm just a little proud that we've made it this far :)
