New Orleans Real Estate News: Let Them Eat Cake

Let Them Eat Cake

I found myself between appointments today - not enough time to head back to the office but enough that heading to the next property meant sitting in the car waiting...and waiting. Instead, I stopped in at Parrot Pete's for an afternoon snack. After all, they do have a very nice selection of sandwiches and salads and it was past the lunch hour rush so I knew I could get in and out pretty quickly. My intention was to get a salad.

What's that old saying? Oh, yeah. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Parrot Pete's Gourmet Bakery

I decided today that my favorite part of being a grown up is being able to sit outside, watch the fountains and have triple berry cake with strawberry-kiwi iced tea for lunch.

Who could resist this? Fountain Park Center Harvey LA

Parrot Pete's Gourmet Bakery is located at 1901 Manhattan Blvd in the Fountain Park Centre and is open from 7 am - 7 pm.

If I were visting you, I'd want to go and enjoy a piece of that cake.  It looks like either butter cream or cream cheese icing.  I'll take both!

OH YUM!!!  That looks good!  I like being a grown-up and being able to make good, healthy decisions on what to have for lunch.  :)   Looks like you made a great decision on what to have for lunch!   I did have a salad for lunch yesterday and then ice cream for dessert with lots & lots of chocolate syrup on it!!!   :)

Lisa, It looks wonderful!  I have a sweet tooth so I would LOVE this place too.  I am trying to spend as much time as possible outdoors--before it gets cold here again!

Carole, it's still hot here, but there is a wonderful shaded patio with outdoor furniture, ceiling fans and a view of the fountain, so I could not resist!

Sally, it was a nice little break in the middle of the afternoon.  No crowds...just the sound of the water, my tea and that scrumptious cake :)
